WES Families,
I hope this message finds you well. As we embark on the third quarter of the 2025-2026 school year, I want to express my gratitude for your continued support and commitment to your child’s education. The school year is progressing steadily, and your partnership remains essential to student success.
As we move into the final stretch of the year, it's a great time to connect with your child's teacher to review progress and identify any areas for additional support. Working together, we'll help your child finish strong. If you have concerns, please contact the teacher.
ClassLink Reminder
Earlier this school year, teachers shared information about ClassLink, our school’s secure online learning platform. ClassLink provides access to your child’s digital classroom tools, learning materials, and instructional resources. Families can access it at:
https://www.dodea.edu/offices/it/classlink. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
Teacher of the Year Nominations
We are proud of the outstanding educators who serve our Wiesbaden students each day. If you would like to recognize any teacher on our staff, you are invited to submit a nomination for DoDEA Teacher of the Year using the following link:
https://www.dodea.edu/education/teachers-administrators/teacher-year-program/nomination-form
Your words of appreciation go a long way in celebrating the dedication and impact of our teachers.
We would also love the opportunity to connect with you in person. Please join us for our next Principal’s Coffee on January 22 at 8:45 a.m., face-to-face here at Wiesbaden Elementary School. This is a wonderful opportunity to ask questions, share ideas, and continue building strong partnerships together.
Thank you to our teachers, students, and families for your continued dedication and teamwork. Strong partnerships between home and school make a powerful difference, and together we are helping every child grow, learn, and succeed.
We are especially grateful to our teachers for their commitment to academic excellence and to our families for the support you provide each day—through communication, encouragement, and engagement. Your partnership strengthens our school community and helps ensure that every student finishes the year with confidence and pride.
We look forward to the exciting learning still ahead and appreciate all you do to make Wiesbaden Elementary a place where students thrive.

SAC NEWS
The SAC is looking ahead to the 2026-2027 school year, and parents and teachers are working together to help ensure a seamless first week for new and returning WES students. If you'd like to share your ideas on how to make that happen, let us know, and we will notify you of the next meeting date. We hope to see you there! POC: SAC Vice Chair, Daphne.Townzen@dodea.edu
Dental Screenings will take place for all WES students at the end of January. If you wish for your student to opt-out of screening, please notify the school nurse at amy.zesiger@dodea.edu.
Please keep your student home if he/she is sick. This includes: vomiting, diarrhea, rash, pink eye, flu/flu-like symptoms, and fever (temperature of 100.0 F or greater). Students are not allowed to return to school until they have been free of vomiting, diarrhea, and/or fever for 24 hours WITHOUT fever-reducing medication (Tylenol or Motrin). When you notify the school of your student's absence at WiesbadenESAttendance@dodea.edu, it would be helpful to include the school nurse at amy.zesiger@dodea.edu so illnesses can be tracked. If you would like more details, please visit School Nursing Services | Wiesbaden Elementary School | DoDEA.
Please continue to diligently check your child's head for lice. Lice are more prevalent during cold months and among preschool and elementary age children. Remind your children to avoid sharing hats and other head/hair accessories. If your child has lice, it is important to NOTIFY THE SCHOOL NURSE, at amy.zesiger@dodea.edu. Medication can be obtained free of charge at the base pharmacy, or it can be purchased at the Exchange or German pharmacy (Apotheke). For treatment to be successful, nits must be brushed out daily after the first medicated treatment AND a 2nd treatment MUST be given 7-10 days after the initial treatment to break the life-cycle of the lice. Bedding and clothing should be washed in hot water, and combs/brushes should be deloused in boiling water for 5-10 minutes. For more information, visit HeadLice.Org.
