Mrs. Netra Harwell
Biography
I am honored to serve as the Principal of Wiesbaden Elementary School in Wiesbaden, Germany.Â
My first career was in the United States Air Force; my second was as a military spouse.Â
I briefly joined DoDEA as a teacher at Robins Elementary School on Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, GA. I then worked for the Houston County School System at Miller Elementary in Warner Robins, after which my family and I relocated to Misawa, Japan.
While living in Misawa, I took on several roles in the Family Members Program Flight before returning to the classroom at Sollars Elementary in 2003. In 2007, my family and I relocated to Iwakuni, Japan, where I taught first grade at Perry Elementary School. At Perry, I taught first grade, worked as a Literary Support Specialist, and served as an Educational Technologist.  During my time at Perry, I implemented strategies and facilitated activities supporting the military community and schools to create a more diverse and inclusive atmosphere.Â
In 2014 I was selected as Assistant Principal at Lakenheath Elementary School, Lakenheath, United Kingdom. In 2019, I was selected to serve as the principal for both Croughton Elementary School, Croughton, United Kingdom, and Alconbury Elementary, Alconbury, United Kingdom. An additional honor in my career was serving as the closing principal for Croughton Elementary School in June 2020.Â
Outside of my role as principal, I enjoy engaging with the community and building strong partnerships. I actively seek opportunities to collaborate with local organizations, churches, and parents to enrich the educational experience and provide additional support to the students.
As a Georgia State certified educator, I hold a bachelor's degree in science of education from Fort Valley State University, a master's degree from the University of Phoenix in Curriculum and Instruction, and a post-master's in educational leadership from Thomas A. Edison State College.Â
I am thrilled to join the Wiesbaden Elementary School community and look forward to positively impacting the lives of students, families, and staff.
I am married to Barry Harwell, a retired member of the USAF, and we have two adult children, Thomas and Rebekah.
