Ms. Katherine M. Cole

Katherine Cole has been invaluable to the Europe East District functionality during the second quarter. The GS-9 district lead left Europe East during this quarter and Cole assumed most of her duties while serving as the district secretary and as the backfill secretary for Vilseck High School.

In addition to doing the work of three people, Cole coordinated with contractors in preparation for two School Emergency Management Team trainings for schools in Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels. She communicated efficiently and timely with the contractors to ensure a flawless visit by planning logistical details and advising the contractors based off her knowledge of the schools and areas. She coordinated with seven schools, two school liaisons, and district leadership to guarantee maximum participation.

Cole was the key employee leading up to the Cognia accreditation visit in May 2023. She created and managed 31 Google websites that the schools provided to their visitors. The websites include various school continuous improvement documents and district resources. Cole was in weekly communication to effectively coordinate with the Cognia lead evaluator on visit logistics and details. She prepared installation access requests for 30 visitors as well as the schedule for the lead evaluators and district superintendent to visit all 31 schools.

Cole’s ability to manage many complex tasks with grace, kindness, and professionalism is extraordinary. Her expertise and intelligence are constantly on display through the quality of her work.
