WES Families,
Thank you to all the parents and guardians who joined us for conferences! It was wonderful connecting with each of you to discuss your students’ progress, goals, and unique talents. Your partnership is key to their success—at WES, we are all taking our Next Steps to Growing Greatness together.
Exciting news! Our 2024-26 School Advisory Committee (SAC) held its first meeting today. This dedicated team is already brainstorming ways to make our school the best learning environment possible. While the first official SAC meeting date is still to be determined, we welcome your agenda suggestions. Please share your ideas through this link: https://shorturl.at/2eOa6.

Also, please note that digital report cards will be sent to your inboxes on November 5th, keep an eye out!
November 11 isn't just a day off from school and work. Originally called "Armistice Day" to mark the end of WWI, Veterans Day is a special day to honor military personnel who have served and sacrificed.  Across the country, people place flowers on the graves of lost loved ones, and many towns hold parades and religious services in honor of veterans. Now called Veterans Day, we want to take this opportunity to thank our U.S. Veterans—locally and globally—for their courageous service to the USA and beyond. Every staff member in DoDEA schools worldwide is dedicated to supporting military missions, families, and dependents of service members. We are proud of the men and women at U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden. Thank you for your service!
We are inviting families to create an ornament to thank a servicemember for their sacrifices to protect our country and our freedoms. In honor of Veterans Day, we will set up Hero Trees in our building. Check the newsletter display for details on how you can help us celebrate our heroes.Â
Each November, we also observe and celebrate the many contributions of American Indian and Alaska Native communities. This month is a time to honor Indigenous Americans' rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and recognize their vital contributions.
As temperatures drop, we kindly ask that students dress in layers. The weather can be unpredictable, but recess waits for no one! Jackets, hats, and gloves make all the difference for warm and happy playtimes. Please label all outerwear to help us return any lost items to their rightful owners.
Thank you, as always, for your support and engagement as we continue this wonderful learning journey together.
Warm regards,
Netra Harwell
Principal
