Principal's Message – JUNE!
Dear WES Families, As we approach the end of the 2024-25 school year, the WES team would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the parents, students, and volunteers who have contributed to making this year a success! We are now accepting applications for our Sure Start preschool program, which is designed for children who turn four by September 1st. Please note that enrollment is not automatic. You can pick up an application in the front office. Selections and notifications for eligible students will take place in August. While summer provides a well-deserved break, it's important to continue learning and staying active. Extended time away from the classroom can lead to a decline in reading and math skills, making the return to school more challenging. We encourage you to support your child by practicing grade-level mathematics and reading during the summer to maintain their skills. The School Advisory Committee (SAC) and Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) are currently recruiting volunteers for the upcoming school year. We hope you have a safe, enjoyable, and restful summer. The WES staff is already looking forward to welcoming students back in August, and we wish our sixth-grade students the very best as they transition to Wiesbaden Middle High School! Warm regards,   Principal Harwell

Exploring Communities Beyond Geography

This month, third graders at Wiesbaden Elementary School learned firsthand what it means to be part of a community—and how community extends far beyond just a place. As part of our English Language Arts Benchmark Advanced curriculum, students in Unit Seven have been exploring the essential question: What is a community? Through authentic guest presentations, they gained valuable insights into how communities are shaped not just by geography, but by shared values and learning together.
